Green Acres Manor News - April 2008
Hello to all!
Spring is in full force now, though, you wouldn't know it by the near freezing
temperatures we've had in the mornings lately. As I mentioned in the March newsletter
I've been waiting for the cold days to pass before planting the rest of the garden. Well,
it looks as though it will be done in stages. I did have an opportunity to plant pumpkins,
cantaloupes, cucumbers, zucchinis, yellow squash, eggplants and strawberry plants on days
when the sun was shining bright. I hope to be able to plant the tomatoes within a week or
two as well as bush and pole beans, jalapeņos, red and green bell peppers and whatever
sounds good to me at the time.
The bigger garden is now located next to the grapevines where we've had the pumpkin
patch, so if you have a chance, come take a look.
This past month Debbie did a scenic ride around the wine country and into the hills with
some of the residents. Everyone seemed to really enjoy seeing all the new growth on the
vines, the blooming flowers, trees and the animals.
Mother's Day is Sunday May 11th. We will be having a special breakfast for all the
ladies to help them celebrate. If you would like to take your Mother out for the day
please let us know so that we can make sure that she is dressed to impress.
We wish you all health and happiness.
