Green Acres Manor News - March 2007
Hello to everyone,
Yes, I know this is coming a little late this month; it’s been very busy around here!
The funny thing is, is that there is not a lot to tell you about. We had a very nice day
on Valentines. It was quite festive around here thanks in part to all my wonderful
employees and wife Monica. We are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with some traditional
corned beef, cabbage, and other Irish fixings. That will be on March 17th at lunch time.
Let us know if you would like to join us. Maybe I shouldn’t say us since I will be gone
on a vacation from March 14th until March 21st. Monica and crew will be here to hold down
the fort and have fun while the boss is away!
I have some sad news to announce. We lost one of our dear residents, Lydia Geistlinger,
in early February. She was a wonderful lady who will be missed by all of us here. My
condolences to her son Marvin and wife, Linda Geistlinger. You will always be a part of
our family. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to get to know you and your mom.
We didn’t have any birthdays in February, but we have two here in March. Our very own
Debbie Leveque celebrated her birthday on March 1st. Happy Birthday to Debbie. Hildegard
Case will celebrate her 84th birthday on March 28th. Make sure you wish the two of them
a very happy birthday.
Believe it or not, I actually started painting the house. There were a few sunny days
this past month, and one of them afforded me the opportunity to get out and paint. You
can see the new color of green on the east side wall of the house down by the garage.
We have also replaced all the overhead fluorescent lights in all the hallways to a new
energy efficient fixture. It is also nice to see that spring may be right around the
corner. We have a lot of new blooms popping up all over the property. Keep your fingers
crossed that we don’t have any more freezing cold days. I can hardly wait for summer!
Take care for now.
