Green Acres Manor News - September 2007
Fall has arrived. The wind is whirling, the leaves are changing colors and falling off
the trees and the temperature has dropped in the evenings. It seems as though October has
come so quickly this year.
This past month we had a few birthdays. Marci’s was on the 5th, Yolanda’s was on the
6th, mine was the 18th and Betty’s was on the 21st. As I said in the past newsletter we
had lots of cake and frosting!
Joe and I are gearing up for the Alzheimer’s Association walk on the 13th of this month.
We are hoping that you will join us for the walk. It’s at Spring Lake Park near the
swimming pond. The walk begins at 10am but we’d like to meet at 9:30. If you can’t
join us for the walk then donations can be given to us and we will turn them in on the
day of the walk. Please make checks payable to The Alzheimer’s Association. Let me know
as soon as possible if you will be walking with us.
On Saturday October 20th we will be having our pumpkin carving contest. This year we
have at least 10 pumpkins ready for carving. If you’d like to bring your children or
grandchildren dressed in their Halloween costumes I know the residents would love it.
We will have candy to pass out so they can practice their trick or treating.
Joe and I will be leaving for Puerto Vallarta on October 22nd. I will be returning on
the 26th and Joe will return the 30th. Yolanda will be spending the night while we are
away.
Have a wonderful month. We hope to see you on the 13th for the Alzheimer’s walk.
Wishing you health and happiness,
Monica
